MOV is Apple's QuickTime container. iPhones and Macs record video as MOV, often in HEVC.
Why convert MP4 to MOV?
MP4 is great for playing and uploading everywhere, but slightly larger than modern codecs like VP9 or AV1 at the same quality. MOV is the better choice for Apple devices and Final Cut; keep in mind Windows, Android and many websites struggle with MOV, especially HEVC MOVs.
